This statement comes from my wonderful brother, Adam Arkin, who is a member of the SAG National Board of Directors. His heart is in the right place, he has worked very hard on this issue, and he absolutely knows what he is talking about:
"Every SAG or AFTRA member reading this... spread the word. Don't buy into the fear-mongering, the paranoia and the muck raking being churned by the anti-merger factions. Even those posing as people for merger but just not this merger. There is nothing, NOTHING, that represents a threat to the well being of our Union, our pensions, our health care that holds a candle to the damage that's been done, and will continue to be done if we don't merge. Management would like to see merger go away, and for very good reason. Our bargaining power will be immeasurably strengthened when we are united. And the time is now.
